The Legend Cafe is a family owned and operated restaurant in historic Irvington on the east side of Indianapolis. We welcome all to our establishment and hope that you will enjoy our made from scratch comfort food in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
We gladly take reservations for lunch and dinner.
The Legend has two entrances, both easy to access. The front entrance is on the street, with a wide sidewalk and a few parking spots along the street. Washington Street is busy, so if you need extra time to get in and out of the car, use the rear entrance. There are also no ramps onto the sidewalk near the parking spots. You need to go to the ends of the block for ramps.
Turn onto N Audubon Rd (at the light) to access the parking lot behind the building. The Legend is located at the end of the lot. The rear entrance is super easy to enter. Plus, you get to walk past the kitchen, which always has something amazing cooking.
Once inside, you will find mostly tables with wooden chairs. The side room, with the bar, offers some booths and bar seating, along with more tables. The staff couldn't be nicer, so if you need assistance, or special seating arrangements, don't hesitate to ask. The floor is nice and level.
During the warm seasons, outdoor seating is available.
Restrooms are located down the hall, past the kitchen. You would go past them if you entered from the rear. Each restroom is single-occupancy, with most accessibility amenities. The rooms are large enough for a wheelchair, but may be a little awkward getting in and out of the door, with the way it is situated. They did the best they could with an old building.
